DISSERTATION PUBLICATION (2022)
My most recent publication was for my dissertation titled 'How does Symbolism in Surrealist Art and Design reveal hidden realms of the Collective Unconscious?'. During my final year I explored psychology, and how abstraction, symbolism, and surrealism can uncover many tones and truths. The written element of the book has a strict modernist formatting which contrasts with rich and textural imagery; this dichotomy shows a friction between the written and visual forms.
For the Outcast Dead (2020)
In First Year we were given a brief to make a typeface for a location in London. I chose the Crossbones Graveyard near London Bridge, where outcasts of society were buried for centuries in the Middle Ages. I chose to make a publication that showcased the grittiness of this hidden history. Hundreds of ribbons with handwritten words of love and grief adorn the fences around the graveyard; my variable typeface uses letters from photos I took of these notes, and the ribbon fastenings are a tribute to this special place. I hand engraved the title on the plywood cover and attached a fabric binding.
Fruits of Philosophy Mini Zine (2019)
This is a collage zine about contraception, made during a workshop in 1st year. The collages contain subliminal, euphemistic messages.
shpongle Zine (2020)
This is a pen drawing, A4 sheet that folds into an A5 book, and my contribution to Another Subculture's annual zine swapping event, in which around 50 people sent in their zines and postcodes, and were all sent each others work.  This piece was inspired by a psychedelic-electronic band called Shpongle.
